German WWII 1st Model Luftwaffe Dagger by SMF-This is a handsome early example with nickel silver fittings throughout. This is an untouched beauty in sound condition. The blue Moroccan leather handle is in nice condition. There is slight scuffing and some leather loss to the handle. The twisted silver wire grip wrap is in place and nicely toned. This is an early example with solid nickel fittings throughout. The pommel cap and hilt and crossguard retain 80% of their finish. The gilt brass inlay on the pommel’s swastikas has a nice finish and details. The blue Moroccan leather on the scabbard shows some slight scuffing but is overall very good. The fittings have a dark (uneven) tone. The blade on this example is in strong very good condition with the SMF knights head logo seen just under the crossguard. The leather buffer is in place as well. This comes with an original solid nickel chain that is also in great shape. Please make note that there is a link missing on the chain, and someone has replaced this with a spare ring that may have been on his keychain. Please take a look at the photos to see this added loop. The snap clip on the chain functions as it should. Overall, a desirable offering.
