The design of the lifestyle center brings up many questions regarding the discipline of architecture. The question that continues to loom over the research is a blatant one, why are these spaces successful? Every piece of the lifestyle center has been implanted. By completion, it appears as though all the new plants and greenery were there all along and the architecture simply ÔplacedÕ itself around it. As the architects of modernity, we must tell the truth to the public. There is no longer the need for these ludicrous spaces for society to participate in the excessive consumption of goods; it simply compounds the economic difficulties we are already facing. We no longer need to be limited by the ways of the past; we simply need to let the buildings tell their own storyÉthe truth. This project cannot begin to explain the aesthetics of this shift in the process of design, but hopefully it addresses the deep desire to make these changes a priority within the discipline.
