Mitered joinery is naturally strong, and naturally good-looking. in the past, though, it has required "lofting" —a fussy and demanding process that requires a huge, strong, flat, level work surface: a surface as big as the truss being built. Few people have a lofting deck, so using mitered joinery was out of their reach. . . . 

Now, thanks to my advancements to mitered joinery, you can produce these structures with as few tools as a chalkline and a small piece of MDF for a table.

In this book I teach the basics of how to choose good logs, snapping the lines on the logs, and then laying out the cut-lines for each joint. I offer you three layout methods: Simple Angle; Storyboard; and Spreadsheet. You choose the method that you like, and that suits your project.

My Storyboard Method is new to log construction—and it is a very simple, and powerful tool. The Storyboard has never appeared in print until now (though I have used it during my hands-on workshops).
